General Notification of Non-Close Contacts
DATE: 3-4-2022
Dear Families and Staff,
Beginning on Mar. 7, 2022, the San Diego Unified School District will no longer be sending out general notification letters to staff and students each time there is a positive case on a school campus or other district site. To identify positive cases on campus, please consult the district COVID-19 Dashboard for cases at sites.
If, in the course of a positive case investigation, students or staff are identified as a “close contact” with an individual, those students or staff will be notified separately. “Close contact” is defined as being closer than 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer with this individual (with or without a mask), within 48 hours prior to that person feeling sick or testing positive.
It remains a public health order of this County and State that anyone who is having COVID-19 symptoms not come to work and please seek out a COVID-19 test. It is very important that staff or students with symptoms not come onto school campuses and notify their school site or supervisor. As guidelines change around contact tracing and COVID guidance, we will update this notification.
