Monday, October 10th is a school day!

Please note that Monday, October 10th is a school day.  While some places of work may have a holiday this coming Monday, the district does not take any holidays in October.  Please send your child to school unless they are ill.

Hancock is now a Community Based School

One exciting change at Hancock this year is that we are piloting a new program at SDUSD known as Community Based Schools. Hancock was named a Community School (CS) in the spring by the Board of Education along with four other schools in the district.  Over the summer and the beginning of school the district worked on hiring CS Site Coordinators.  We are pleased to announce that Hancock’s Site Coordinator is Ms. Abi Avila who started working with us September 30th.  Ms. Abi has an extensive background in working with non-profit organizations as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling.  You will be hearing more news regarding our Community Schools status, surveys/needs assessment that will be coming to families in the future and how we can garner the best support possible for our Hancock students.  You may email Abi at [email protected]  For more information regarding Community Schools please visit the following websites:
