Parent Teacher Foundation (PTF) News
Our PTF needs YOU! Not only does our PTF fund many amazing enrichment programs for your student (ie: field trips, art lessons, garden lessons) but getting involved as a volunteer is a great way to get to know other parents in our community, connect with Hancock’s teachers and staff, and have input into the enrichment programs and activities that happen at Hancock.
- Many volunteers are needed in the coming months. Events include Garden Maintenance, Staff Appreciation Week, End of the Year Carnival and Art to Remember fundraiser. Even if you are not a cleared volunteer through the school office, there are things outside of the school campus that we need your help with. If you would like to help, contact the PTF Volunteer Coordinator [email protected] to find out how you can help.
- Join us for the next General PTF Meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Hancock Auditorium. We encourage you to attend without your children, but some child care will be available during the meeting if necessary.
COVID Testing Update
Beggining Jan. 30, 2023, COVID-19 testing will shift from weekly site testing to an all home test kit model. Our last day of on site testing will be on Monday, January 23rd. If you wish to continue testing your child at home weekly, or as needed, families may pick up free home test kits from the office through the end of the 2022-23 school year. The district will continue contact tracing and case management for all students and staff until further notice. As a reminder, students should not attend school if they are feeling sick or experiencing symptoms of any cold-like virus, until those symptoms start to improve and there is no fever for 24 hours (without use of fever-reducing medication). If any student tests positive for COVID-19, they should not attend school and report the illness to the school (see below).
Need to Report an Absence?
If your child will be absent please be sure to report your absence to the office, not just your teacher. You may report the absence using this google form OR you may call our phone line at 619-605-3200 and press 1 for attendance to leave a message any day/time. Please be specific in your reason.
