President’s Day Dash Fun Run - 2/12
The President's Day Dash Fun Run is this week! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. All of the funds go to the PTF to be spent at our school on our students. We picked something simple for you to do. You do not have to sell anything or deliver anything! You just register your child, set up a web page, share it with family and friends and the donations start rolling in! And the kids earn prizes as they earn money! So far you all have raised over $16,000! Way to go Ms. Jacob’s class! They are currently in first place having raised $1,650! That is amazing! Please get registered and share that link! All students will be invited to participate in the Fun Run on Thursday Feb. 12 during the school day. Fundraising is not required to participate. See the attached flyer for steps to join the President's Day Dash! Email Mrs. Cimins at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Hancock
Classroom teachers may choose to do a Valentine’s Day exchange on Wednesday or Thursday. Teachers will provide more information to families. Any cards or treats must be sent with the student or given to the teacher directly in the morning lineup. The front office will not be able to accept any cards/treats dropped off. Candy, gum, and caffeine beverages are not allowed per the district’s Wellness Policy. Please be sure your child brings anything they plan to share with their class to school in the morning.
Help Wanted
Looking for extra income? Love working with children? Hancock is looking to hire new staff members in the position of Noon Duty Supervision. You would have the responsibility of watching over students during lunch, lunch recess and assisting with car drop off and/or pick up on some days before and after school. We currently need people who can commit to work a set schedule (10hrs a week for the rest of the school year). This is a perfect part-time job while children are in school. If you are interested, please talk to Ms. Dawn in the front office.

Clothing Donations Needed for Health Office
Hancock’s Health Office often provides a change of clothes to our students who have accidents or spills. We are running quite low on clothing to loan to students. If you happen to have some children’s clothing you could donate, we especially need pants/leggings/shorts with elastic waist, underpants, and shoes. Small sizes for our younger students are especially appreciated. Please bring them directly to the Health Office. We appreciate your support!

Need to Report an Absence? 🤒
Communication with our Attendance Clerk, Ms Shauna, is important if your student is absent for any reason. Per San Diego Unified policy, if you do not report the reason for the absence to the office within 5 school days, even if it was for an excused reason (illness, medical or dental appointments, funeral services, military ceremonies, etc) it will automatically be changed to an unexcused absence. Please be sure to report the reason for the absence every time. You can do this 24/7 either online or by phone @ 619-605-3200 Option 1.
