We are listening!

Since Becoming a Community School, Hancock has:

  • Partnered with Operation School bell, who has provided shopping sprees for 47 students
  • Created “Coping Landing Spaces” for SPED classrooms and Office 
  • Hired extra on-campus support- Paraprofessional hours
  • Held two different Flu Vaccine Clinics with Balboa Navy Medical
  • Hosted STEP (Support the Enlisted Project) for an on-campus Food Drive
  • Purchased Class Set Books for 1st & 2nd Graders
  • Purchased “I-Ready” program for academic support to school
  • Purchased a Poster Maker for family engagement and educational support
  • Sponsored Science Night for Families
  • Sponsored Family Literacy Night 
  • Funded teacher specific “After School Tutoring Club”
  • Hired “extra” Noon Supervision for UTK recess.
  • Provided in-School Mental Health Support for students with American Red Cross!
  • Created an Instagram Account to Keep you Informed!
  • Send out Needs and Assets Assessment --77.5% of our families have given feedback
  • Gathered 83% of Staff Needs and Assets Assessment 
  • Provided Diapers for our Health Office
  • Partnered with Sharia's Closet- Providing an extra change of clothes for student emergencies
  • Purchased Edmark Reading to support students' academic development
  • Partnered with SAY San Diego for "Words Alive" and Wellness Family Enrichment programs 
  • Hosted Community Vision and Strategy Sessions with teachers and classrooms
